Adding Titles to VPL’s Collection and Booking Book Launches or Signings

Vaughan Public Libraries is committed to support our local literary talents' writing efforts. We endeavour to collect one copy of each of your published works. We also offer free space for your book launches or signings.

In VPL’s definition, local authors and poets are eligible authors and poets who reside at York Region, Peel Region, and Toronto.

To help us better meet your needs, please fill out the following information and we will contact you shortly.

New ✸   After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, VPL is once again hosting Bookfest on Saturday, October 14, 2023, 1:00-4:00 pm at Civic Centre Resource Library! Local authors and poets are welcome to join us and host your book signing booth at the event. If you are interested, check the box below and complete the following form by Sunday, October 1, 2023. (Note space is limited. While we welcome all requests, we may not be able to accommodate everyone.)

VPL will strive to collect one copy of each of your published works providing they meet requirements as outlined in the VPL Collection Development Policy.



Notes:
  • Please fill out a separate form if you have more than three published works that we have never included in our collection.
  • We continuously add or withdraw titles, depending on the community demand, as part of our collection management process.

For those who are interested in participating in Bookfest, please select Book Signing Table at Library Lobby below and choose Saturday, October 14, 2023, 1:00-4:00 pm at Civic Centre Resource Library as location, date, and time.

Which space would you like?

Notes:
  • We offer free space of either a lobby table or a program room. Please pick one that suits your needs the best. Our recommendation is to book a book signing table at the library lobby where you would have more opportunities to interact with our customers, unless you intend to do a book launch with a group of guests that you plan to invite.
  • We offer only one free space booking system-wide.
  • We offer only one free book launch per title per author.
  • Booking should be made at least one month in advance and it will depend on room availability to meet your desired date.
  • You will have the opportunity to sell your published works, but no solicitation is permitted.
  • VPL will be happy to promote your work(s) on our social media prior to your book launch or book signing. We will not be able to offer other forms of promotion.
