We’re seeking a traditionally-published author from Vaughan or nearby to be our Writer-in-Residence for May and June 2026. You’ll lead writing workshops, offer one-on-one consultations, and mentor aspiring authors. You will also have dedicated time, space, and resources to work on your own creative projects. If you're passionate about storytelling and supporting fellow writers, we’d love to hear from you!
VPL offers the Writers' Room to connect aspiring writers together, discuss topics like plot, character, and style, as well as share works and receive feedback. We also offer other writing programs throughout the year.

We love introducing library users to unique homegrown talent and giving local writers a tangible way to connect with their audiences.
Local authors can donate their works for inclusion in the library’s collections. Authors may complete and submit a form to begin the process.
We provide opportunities for local authors to promote their new books at the library and interact with our visitors.
