Financial Literacy Fundamentals
  • Learn basic financial skills: spending plans and ways of saving money. This Money Matters series was developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada in partnership with the Government of Canada and is delivered in communities across Canada. Sessions hosted on Zoom. Register on Eventbrite.

    These sessions are parts of Money Matters – online workshop series developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada in partnership with Government of Canada and TD Bank Group, designed by literacy practitioners, and presented by TD professional volunteers.

    1) Thursday, November 16 - Financial Literacy: Spending Plans:
    - understanding your money situation
    - keeping track of your income and expenses
    - calculating your spending over time
    - determining your needs and wants
    - making a spending plan that works for you

    2) Wednesday, November 29 - Financial Literacy: Ways of Saving Money:
    - exploring different ways to save for the future
    - learning about interest and how it grows
    - learning about ways to save for your children’s education using a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)
    - learning about how to save using a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA)
