Healthy Rivers
  • Learn about local rivers, including their significance, threats, conservation works, and what we can do to protect them. Presented by Ontario Streams. Session is hosted live on Zoom. Register on Eventbrite.

The Greater Toronto Area is divided into nine watersheds – the area in which one large river and its branches reach. Both the Humber River and Don River run through Vaughan. Our urban rivers provide habitat for many different species and are unfortunately facing many threats including pollution. Kat from Ontario Streams will share an overview of our local rivers and conservation work being done to protect them. You will also learn about resources available in York Region and how we all can protect our local environment.
