Join Education Interpreters from the Kortright Centre for Conservation to learn about a fabulous Canadian tradition – the making of Maple Syrup! In this hour long virtual program Kortright staff will demonstrate and discuss the history of syrup making from Early Indigenous to Modern day times. As we take you virtually along the Maple Syrup trail at Kortight you will learn how sap is produced and flows within the tree, how to identify maple trees, and how farmers tap their trees for sap. You will also meet a pioneer and modern day syrup-maker who will describe how they process sap into syrup. All ages all welcome!
