The weather is slowing warming up, construction at the Civic Centre Resource Library is coming along very well. Painting work is ongoing at the main floor. Ceiling work is nearing completion. Ceiling baffles and lighting installation are ongoing in the teen and adult areas. Bench seating is being installed. Tile work is ongoing at the washrooms.

This week at the Civic Centre Resource Library, framing and drywall installation are progressing throughout the building. Painters continue to complete spraying the ceiling and are working on the first coat of the walls at the teen area and office areas on the ground floor. Light fixture installation has started at the adult collection area. Tile work has commenced at the washrooms.

This week at the Civic Centre Resource Library, workers are continuing to install miscellaneous framing around the glazing on the east and south face. Framing work is still ongoing at the main entrance at the south side, and the framing of the vestibule is progressing with drywall installation at the ceiling.Painters are on site and are spraying the ceiling at the children’s zone, moving west towards the proposed computer area. Installation of the elevator is ongoing now that the electrical work is complete.

The cold weather has not not stopped the Civic Centre Resource Library from moving forward. As of this week, workers continue to install composite panels on the east and south sides. Framing work is ongoing at the main entrance. Interior steel stud work has progressed in all areas and is ongoing at the second level mezzanine. Installation of the elevator is ongoing now that the electrical work is complete. Painters are on site to commence work.

Things are moving along quickly at the Civic Centre Resource Library this week. Workers continue to install composite panels on the east side. Framing work is still ongoing at the main entrance at the south. Glazing installation continues around the exterior perimeter (east and south elevations). Interior steel stud work has progressed in all areas and is ongoing at the second level mezzanine and stairwell areas. Drywall installation continues throughout the first floor along with mudding and taping. Temporary plywood has been installed to enclose the building until exterior glazing and panelling can be completed in January.

This week at the Civic Centre Resource Library, workers continue to install composite panels on the south side. Framing work is still ongoing at the main entrance. Glazing installation continues to move along around the exterior perimeter. Electrical work is underway for connections to the elevator. Gas feed to the building is in place and heaters are on site to be installed. In addition, trees for the courtyard have been planted.

• Exterior insulation installation is taking place around the north, west and south elevations.

• Sidewalk continues to be poured around the perimeter as well as the pads at the main entrance.

• Composite panel installation is progressing at the north side and around the Reading Garden.
• Sidewalks are 50% poured at the north side and curb work is progressing at the east and north sides.

• Drywall installation continues throughout the first and second floors.

The Vaughan Public Library Board is pleased to announce VPL’s third resource library will be officially named the Civic Centre Resource Library. The name was selected from an extensive list of suggestions received from hundreds of Vaughan citizens, through a survey, and additional names of historical significance amassed with input from City of Vaughan Archives staff. VPL thanks everyone who provided their valuable input in naming this library.

Construction of the Civic Centre Resource Library is progressing well. As of this week, the exterior insulation installation is ongoing at the south side of the building perimeter with roxul insulation. Glazing installation continues around the exterior perimeter. Another shipment of glazing has been received and installation along the south and east walls are to commence. Hardscaping along the south, west and north sides are ongoing. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins are complete. Connections of exhaust fans and fixture rough-ins are underway. Interior steel stud work has progressed in all areas. Drywall installation continues throughout the first and second floor.

Glazing installation continues around the exterior perimeter. The north and west elevations as well as the reading garden are approximately 90% closed in. Hardscaping activities along the south, west and north continues.  Grading is almost complete along the north. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins are complete. Interior steel stud work has progressed in all areas. Drywall installation is underway at the mezzanine and second floor areas.
