Building Update: Woodbridge Library Renovation

Nearing the re-opening of Woodbridge Library, we are excited to report on the progress of the renovation!

The most notable progress on the Woodbridge Library Entrance Renovation project during early April was the installation of all the glass windows in the entrance. With the windows in place, the general contractors have removed a significant amount of the tarping from the entrance way, allowing passers-by a glimpse into the new expansive space.

Roofing work was also a focus throughout March and is nearly complete, allowing for the installation of the wood panels that will cover the ceiling in the entrance and mezzanine. Work on the elevator has also been completed and is awaiting a final inspection.

Progress was also evident on the lower level where the glass wall separating the seating area from the program and meeting rooms was installed. Another impressive feature is the new class wall that will look from the children’s area into the foyer. This glass wall will be covered with brightly coloured transparent film that matches the film of the lower-level study room.

The focus is now on the finishing details including painting, installing the carpet, tiling and finishes in the main floor washroom, installation of interior railings, installation of the lighting fixtures, and touch-ups to the ceiling tiles throughout the branch.

New furniture and shelving that has been purchased for the re-opening of Woodbridge Library has been delivered and is in storage awaiting substantial completion of the branch.

We are happy to be making progress and look forward to sharing future updates. Stay tuned!
