We are happy to share the amazing progress being made on the Carrville Library. With many more installations being added, we are getting closer to opening day! Now officially named the Carrville Library (CV) by the Library Board, we are gearing up to open very soon.
Full completion is pending as a number of issues are being resolved. This includes guardrails and glass panel installation on library terrace which are coming from Spain.
Many furniture deliveries have been received including library shelving, library collections, merchandising furniture and study chairs. Staff workroom furniture and lounge seating deliveries will arrive by next week and remaining furniture, mostly study tables, arrived at the end of April.

LEED Platinum certification continues, requiring furniture to be off-gassed post-delivery. This a three-week process that will be followed by air quality testing.
The mini sorter has been installed and programming and testing of self-check units took place on April 16. Network and Wi-Fi are also up and running, with keyed and fob readers installed as well.

Internal signage is being fabricated with installation set for mid-May, while external signage is expected late May.
The General Contractor still remains on-site addressing deficiencies, as well as the City’s Facility Operator staff, who are responsible for coordinating deliveries.
Vaughan Public Libraries and the City of Vaughan are working towards opening the facility to the public, getting ready for a summer opening.
