Children's Programs

First Steps in Coding

Bathurst Clark Resource Library

Monday, March 30, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Come learn about CodeCombat Junior, an educational adventure game that teaches coding concepts and even real-world programming languages! Grades 1-3 with an adult. Register on Eventbrite.

We'll show you how to find the right level to challenge your child while keeping it fun to learn and advance! CodeCombat Junior lets you choose icon-based code blocks for pre-readers, simple text-based coding, or a side-by-side mode so kids can play using block coding and see what the blocks would correspond to in a language like Python. Note that VPL membership is required to access CodeCombat Junior. Also, we will have a limited number of Chromebooks available, but please bring a laptop computer or Chromebook if you are able to.
