Kleinburg Library Closed For Renovations August 1 – November 8

 

Kleinburg Library, located at 10341 Islington Avenue North, will be closed for renovations starting Friday, August 1 to Saturday, November 8 at 1 p.m.

Renovations to the Library will be done both inside and outside of the building.

Interior Renovations:

  • Adding two large windows to the front of the library on the main level increasing the visibility to see both into and out of the library
  • Creating a large new window on the south wall of the library’s upper level
  • Levelling the floor on the upper level and putting down new carpet
  • Adding a new railing for the stairway
  • Installing new lighting and HVAC throughout
  • Renovating the staff workroom
  • Upgrading electrical and data requirements

Exterior Renovations:

  • Replacing the existing fire and emergency stair structure on the north side
  • Creating a reading garden on the south side of the library
  • Completing the cement pathway from front of library to new rear entrance
  • Replacing all existing windows
  • Improving exterior lighting
  • Replacing existing wood/aluminum siding
  • Repairing and replacing roof
  • Removing existing roof ladder
  • Adding new entrance to lower floor of library from exterior on east side
  • Removing existing exterior stairs and structure to lower level from front of library

Customers can deactivate their holds online or pick them up at Pierre Berton Resource Library at 4921 Rutherford Road. If you require assistance deactivating your holds, please contact the Service Desk. The book drop will also be closed during this time. You may return your library materials to any branch of Vaughan Public Libraries or renew them online at www.vaughanpl.info. We apologize for any inconvenience.
