
In this guide, we will show you how to use the Cricut Hat Press at the Make It Creation Space to apply Heat Transfer Vinyl on a hot of your provide. The fabric can be a variety of choices including cotton, polyester, or a combination of them.

1. Making your Design on Cricut

- Open Cricut and sign-in or sign-up if you haven’t already.

- Select +New Project to start creating your design.

- Using the left-side toolbar, import shapes, images, or text to make your design.

- NOTE: When placing objects, images, shapes, text, fonts, etc. Please make sure to filter by FREE. If you do not do this depending on the graphics used, the Cricut software will ask you to pay before cutting your vinyl.
- (Optional) If you have a pre-existing design you would like to use, go to Upload and select your design.
2. Cutting your Design

- Once you are done, click Make in the top right corner of the screen.

- Select On Mat then select Next

- Using the Green Cricut Mat, select the colour vinyl you would like to use, cut it to the length that you’ll need, and place it onto the Green Cricut Mat with the Shiny Side Down.

- Select Everyday Iron-On as your material and adjust pressure as needed.

- Feed the mat through the Cricut by pressing the blinking button.

- After the mat, I have been fed through select the Play Button
3. Removing the Vinyl

- Remove your vinyl from the Green Cricut Mat.
- Using the tools found in the Cricut 3 Machine, carefully remove the excess vinyl that is NOT part of your design.

- Once the excess vinyl is removed, cut the excess tape away leaving a finger width of a bored near your design.
4. Preparing your Hat

- Using the Cricut Hat Press, let the iron pre-heat and wait for it to beep.

- Grab the Hat Puff and place your hat on top as this will help it keep its shape when transferring your design.

5. Ironing Your Design

- Place your design onto your hat making sure it’s smooth with little to no air bubbles.
- Using the iron, place it on your hat with firm pressure, then press the Play Button
- Once it is done and you hear the beep, keep the hat on the puff until it has cooled.
- Remove your design once it is cool to the touch.
