We are excited to announce that a significant milestone has been reached in developing our new library. On December 16th, we achieved substantial completion, an important step that signifies the near-finalization of construction. This achievement means that site works, deliveries and installations no longer require vendors to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while on-site, signalling a safer and more accessible environment as we transition to the final stages of the project.

Library shelving has been delivered and fully installed, marking a crucial step in preparing the library for its vast collection. Library materials have been scheduled for late January, bringing the library closer to being stocked with books, DVDs, and other resources for the community to enjoy.

Additionally, furniture deliveries are planned for late January and mid-March, ensuring the library will feature comfortable and functional spaces for reading, studying, and gathering.

Deficiencies work has begun to address outstanding details and ensure the facility meets the highest standards before opening. Ongoing priorities include installing IT equipment and network systems to provide cutting-edge digital services. Integrated system testing is also underway to ensure all systems operate seamlessly. Certification processes for refrigeration, fire alarms, and geothermal systems remain a key focus to guarantee safety and efficiency throughout the facility. Furthermore, signage installation and the continued delivery of furniture and equipment are bringing the project closer to completion.

With substantial completion behind us, we are looking ahead with great anticipation. These final steps will bring us closer to opening the doors of a vibrant, modern, and welcoming library space for the community.
Thank you for your support as we continue this exciting journey!
