Wow! What a busy week! I’ve kept coming up with ideas of things to talk to you about, but then I never had a second to actually sit myself down and get typing! (I must confess, I almost broke down a couple times on the weekend and write something from home…)
Anywho, I don’t know if you heard, and I don’t know how big a deal it is to you guys, but last week an absolutely amazing, hilarious, iconic, CANADIAN actor passed away.
Leslie Nielsen – a true classic of the slapstick comedies, passed away on November 28…he was 84 years old.
Sooo, like I said, I don’t know how much you guys know about him, if you’ve seen any of his movies or tv shows…or even his few random guest spots on different show. That said, you should watch his movies. Watch them now. Click here, here, here, here, and here for different links to random stuff (ok, not totally random – they’re all about him).
Movies to Watch:
The Naked Gun
Dracula: Dead and Loving It (we don’t have it for some reason!!! This must be fixed!!)
Spy Hard (ahhhh! Why don’t we have this one, too?!?!??!)
Random episodes of Due South
Men with Brooms
Seriously, he was awesome. Truly a classic.
…and don’t call me Shirley!
Dr. Rumack (aka. Leslie): Captain, how soon can you land?
Captain Oveur: I can’t tell.
Dr. Rumack: You can tell me. I’m a doctor.
Captain Oveur: No. I mean I’m just not sure.
Dr. Rumack: Well, can’t you take a guess?
Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours.
Dr. Rumack: You can’t take a guess for another two hours?
Clarence Oveur: No, no, no, I mean we can’t land for another two hours.
Banquet Doorman: Your coat, sir?
Lt. Frank Drebin (aka. Leslie): Yes, it is. And I have a receipt to prove it.
This is Frank Drebin, Police Squad. Throw down your guns, and come on out with your hands up. Or come on out, then throw down your guns, whichever way you wanna do it. Just remember the two key elements here: one, guns to be thrown down; two, come on out!
Lover at Picnic: Oh sure, and some wine?
Dracula (aka. Leslie): I never drink… wine [thinks for about 3 seconds] Oh what the hell, let me try it!
